The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan was established as an autonomous body under ministry of human resource development in 1965 and entrusted the task establishing and running Kendriya Vidyalayas. To pursue excellence and set the pace in the field of school education collaboration with other bodies like the central board of secondary education (CBSE ) and the national council of educational research and training (NCERT), etc. K.V. SAC, Vastrapur was established in August 1980 as a project school under the patronage of D.O.S for imparting education to the children The school library provides different reference material. Three laboratories and computer labs are well equipped to provide practical knowledge to supplement class teaching. The resource room is well equipped with different audio-visual equipments, which provides ample opportunities to the students to make use of the modern technologies in learning
