Hi Ritu here is some history for you. let me know how are things now.
way back in 1966 when i joined the school.there were 6 houses.kirti, jagriti,shakti,shanti,jyoti and pragati. till 1971 all boarders were part in kirti house. all inter house competions were lopsided with kirti winning most of the competions.In 1971 new hostel building with 2 floors was inaugurated. the old hostel building had three floor. The number of houses was reduced to 5 with each hostel floor representing a house. yours truly was in shakti house which occupied the ground floor in the new building. Of the six house the when that was disbanded was if my memory serves me right was pragati house.
Mr SK Agarwal had joined school in 1970 and it was my batch which gave him the name which stuck till date.

Shakti, as we used to say, Soda , lemon, Ginger, Pop, Shakit house is the best..

Hey guys ! Im very much out of date. Arjun?? We didnt have that in our time. Ours were Jyoti, Jagriti, Kirti, Shakti, Shanti.. and.. ummm... there was one more. Well, Arjun wasnt one of them. Have the names changed? I vote for Jyoti, if it still exists :-) Lizzy was my house-mistress. (you dont expect me to give out her real name, do you? Bless her )

I have absolutely no clue which is the best house now, but wayback in 1996 jyoti used to be the best in sports day followed by Jagriti & Kirti. Kirti was the best in overeall package b,cos it had some cool dudes with great attitude like me........Just kidding....Kirti was the best and will be the best forever.

I would also fall in the older people category and vote for Kirti to be the best as I was a part of that same house. I was a Boarder too and had a lot of fun all those Good Old Seven Years. I was in the 1994 Batch and was recognized as the Tabla Player as there were very few of them then. I would love to come down to my school and BH and refresh my memories but looking for a friend who can give me company else I would simply be lost there. See you guys soon!

Jyoti Jyoti Jyoti. Every other house was either good at marketing (making loud noises*cough*kirti*), showing off their status (*cough*Jagriti*) and others that just said they were the silent strong types *cough*shanti and the rest....hahaha. but JYOTI came up on top at all times! :) GO JYOTI! I know for extra-curricular back in the day when I was the prefect for it too, sports and debating and drama and a few others were our forte! :P

i think we were the penultimate batch............ after which the names of the houses changed ..............being a boarder n one of the office bearer i will stick with my house i.e. JAGRITI house...........n just for the info, during my batch all the houses were handled by boarders ,and that fact added to the anguish of day-scholars.........n u know what would have had followed it(dhishum.....dhishum)........but tht year Jagriti topped in many events like marching n completely dominate in athlete in junior group(below class 10th)..........truly Jagriti was at its zenith....rather acropetal is the word.
