With Experience of 21 years at Construction Industry , I feel there is a Great need of Looking into course Contents offered at UG Level to Engg Students.
4 Years Course Should be Split Up into 2 parts : Part-1 : Intensive Theoritical Subjects to be covered in 7 sem spread over 3 years + 1 year of Apprentice training in an Industry : out of this 6 months to be devoted for Practicle training of Various Elements of Industry like a) Management b) Supply Chain c) Contracts d) Machienary / Equipments d) Costing / Budgeting and Last 6 months on Human resources Management and Communication Skills
Well i look forward for more additional Inputs / Views in this respect from U ALL

Great Idea! but the rigidity of our educational system, and the reluctance of the college's to aggressively collaborate with industry + lack of R&D in colleges in India - makes it very difficult to implement your vision.
That being said, I think this sort of thing is very viable through collaborating with other institutions (e.g. NIT, Surathkal collaborating with IIM Bangalore to have an exchange program for students interested in gaining some targeted business training.
At the end of the day it is the college that needs to take the bold step and innovate around its curriculum - which in many cases (esp. Engineering) hasn't changed in the last several decades. Yes, there have been new subjects added to account for new fields and the like, but the actual delivery and activities around the courses haven't changed and I think thats where we need to innovate.
