I have unfortunately seen quite a few attempts to have something like this started, only to have it falter. Leaving aside schools like Doon, which obviously have very highly evolved OBN (old boy's networks... not being sexist here), even places like Modern are way ahead. I think the School itself will have to take the lead, if this is to be of any value. Dipsites are there all over the world, with varying degrees of 'school spirit'.. It has to be made easier. You guys presently in school, most places have a proper alumini department that is manned and staffed by permanent staff on the schools payroll. I am sure it more than pays for itself.. Something to discuss with the principal?

i dont think dps rkp is tooo big!!! i think it is an experience in itself.. i am currently part of rkp n i am loving it entirely. depsite having a huge school the principal is managing it fairly well. it is still kept in order! hats off to the principal!! no one on this planet can manage our school the way she can!!

i think ashish here has a point... we as a well-established organisation dont really have a well-established alumni structure... although i agree that dps rkp is the best thing that can happen to ne1 ;)

Ashish makes a valid point. An alumni network fosters an atmosphere of belonging and thereby creates an opportunity to network. While at the school, the bonhomie is restricted to partying or making career choices. However much later in life one begins to feel the need to connect for varying reasons - for nostalgia, for career networking or just to fulfill some social needs. DPS RKP has churned out people who are now extremely well placed in society and such a network in due course, if established, could be as strong as the IIT or Harvard alumni network. Theres a thought.

It is...by world standards..and I hope it gets bigger by the day..Just visited the school after a long time..was happy to see it growing in all aspects..from the school..to the sports facilities..to the hostels..could see and sense the place from where the future shall continue to have a lot of achievers in various fields...

Ya..the alumni I think needs to get-together more often (batchwise or on the whole) for a greater interaction..the web is a good initiative..tks.to N.Anand for inviting...
