Ghousia College of Engineering was started in the year 1980.The college is affiliated to Visweshwaraiah Technological University, Belgaum.The college was established in the rural environs of Ramanagaram.The college is 48 km away from the capital city Bangalore on the Bangalore - Mysore highway. With the opening of this college, Ramanagaram has found a place in the encyclopedia of the educational map of India. The first batch of 120 students streamed out of this institution during 1984 as Engineering Graduates. The Institute secured very good results in the first batch with 90% results. During the academic year 1985-86 two new courses in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering were started with the sanction of Govt. of Karnataka with an in-take of 40 students For each course. A new course in Computer Science Engineering was sanctioned to the college with the intake of 40 students from the academic year 1986-87. Ample accommodation has been provided for conducting theory and Practical classes. The workshops and Laboratories are well equipped to impart training in practical in all the faculties as required under University Regulations. The college has Placement, Library, Internet, Sports ,N.S.S services & Hostel facilities.
