The Air Force Technical College (AFTC), located at Jalhalli, is committed to grooming young trainee officers to become Aeronautical Engineers in the Indian Air Force. The curriculum is not only designed to impart technical knowledge but also to inculcate the service code of conduct that is common to all Air Force Officers. The Air Force Technical Collage has the distinction of being the first institute set up in India and southeast asia for training aeronautical engineers. When set up in jalahalli, Bangalore in 1949 under the charge of Group Captain J. Beaumont it was know as the Technical Training College. During the 48 weeks training period, the Technical College transforms fresh graduates to take on the responsibilities of an officer in the Indian Air Force.After you have cleared the selection procedure, you are sent to one of the Air Force training establishments. Here you undergo scientifically planned rigorous physical and academic training that is aimed to gear you for the life in Air Force.
