Dr. Ambedkar Institute Of Technology was established in 1980 by late Sri M.H. Jayaprakash Narayanan, who was a MLA, a visionary and an educationist. It is premier Institute built on the Ideals of Bharatha Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. It is a grant-in-aid institution of Government of Karnataka. Approved by All India Council for Technical Education ( AICTE ) , New Delhi. Affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University ( VTU ) , Karnataka . The 24 acre sprawling campus is situated on the outer ring road, adjacent to Jnana Bharathi campus of Bangalore University, just 10 kms from the heart of Bangalore City. Its other illustrious neighbors are Indian Institute of Plantation Management (IIPM), National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Institute for Social and Economic Change (ISEC), and Atomic Energy Department. The campus is well connected to all parts of the city by our own institute buses and Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) buses. As a grant-in-aid institution of Government of Karnataka, 95% of the seats are filled up purely by merit by Common Entrance Test Cell (CET). Thus the academic environment is very good in the campus.
