Jyoti Nivas College, Bangalore

The schools and colleges of the Sisters of St.Joseph of Tarbes are inspired by the life and teaching of Jesus Christ and are guided by the socio-economic and political goals enshrined in the constitution of India. The vision of SJT's is to build communion and to provide excellent education to society. What we believe in:- Since its inception in 1966, Jyoti Nivas College has remained steadfast to one central commitment to provide a balanced comprehensive education in liberal Arts, Science and Commerce. Jyoti Nivas aims at turning out intellectually enlightened, morally upright, spiritually inspired, emotionally balanced and socially committed young persons. The philosophy of the college is "LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE" How we achieve it:- Jyoti Nivas College caters for a liberal education that acquaints the students with the various intellectual strategies for understanding the natural and social environments as well as developing in them moral and spiritual values to enable them to face life situations. As a Christian College for Women, founded in an epoch of revolutionary changes in every sphere of life, it considers that the justification of higher education is something more than "qualification". While preserving the best values of our Indian Culture, we realize that education must prepare the students to live fruitfully in a world that is rapidly becoming transformed by science and technology. Our faculty members possess not only fine minds and scholarly expertise but also a strong sense of commitment to teaching and a variety of innovative methods are used by them to supplement lectures. We offer Pre-University and Degree courses in Arts, Science, Commerce as well as BBM and Vocational courses.
