King George Royal Indian Military College, Bangalore was founded on 1st August 1946. In 1952 the name was shortened to “King George’s School”. The school cadets were appearing for Senior Cambridge Examination until 1962. In 1962 it got affiliation to ICSE and in 1966 it acquired its present name “Military School Bangalore”. In 1967 it adopted CBSE syllabus. Faculties:-Military School Bangalore is a category “A” training establishment of the Indian army controlled by the Directorate General of Military Training (MT 15),Army Headquarters, New Delhi. The Central Governing Council (CGC) headed by the Defence Secretary, Govt. of India and the Local Board of Administration are the governing bodies responsible for various academic and administrative affairs of the school. Activities:-The school offers the study in the following courses. A. Science Stream: English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics & Computer Science. B. Humanities Stream: Hindi (Core) and English (Elective), History, Geography, Economics & Political Science.The school calendar is designed to draw an optimum balance of curricular and extra-curricular activities. A typical working day starts at 5:45 hours. The morning PT session is followed by wash and breakfast. All the cadets and faculty meet at the Assembly at 8 00 hours. The classes are from 8 20 hours to 14 00 hours with a break at 11 00 hours for light refreshment. At 14 00 hours the cadets and Faculty meet over lunch which is served in mess hall. Well balanced and nourishing meals are served to the cadets three times a day in addition to the tea breaks during which light refreshments are served.
